Wintry Mix Moving Into Kentucky

Update: Most of the rain has now pushed into eastern Kentucky, but a few more spotty showers will be possible very early Tuesday morning. If a shower passes through late enough, a few snowflakes might mix in. No accumulations will occur overnight. Lexington picked up about .1" of rain. A few puddles on bridges and overpasses could freeze before the morning commute, so watch out for a slick spot or two on your Tuesday morning commute.

Meteorologist Michael Estime will have the latest on our next warm-up starting at 5 a.m. Tuesday on ABC 36 Good Morning Kentucky.

A wintry mix of precipitation will move through the region this evening. Many areas will just see rain, but north of Interstate 64, some areas could see some sleet or snow mix in late tonight. Very little to no accumulation is expected.

The rain and mix should move out by the morning commute, but with temps dipping below freezing, we could see a few slick spots on the roads Tuesday morning. Temperatures will start the day near 30° with mostly cloudy skies.

During the day Tuesday, skies will gradually begin to clear with afternoon highs near 40°. Winds will be out of the southwest up to 10mph.
