The Soggy Saga Continues

Moderate to heavy rainfall saturated the Bluegrass Saturday evening, but central Kentucky is now under scattered, light showers this morning. This afternoon, we will see the return of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms across most of the state for midday with reoccurrences possible through the evening. This afternoon will get much warmer than yesterdays high, coming in at 75 degrees. The overnight will be slightly cooler with lows around 57 degrees. Winds will remain out of the south at 5-10 mph and it is best to keep storm chances in the forecast through the evening because the warmth will add to an unstable atmosphere. Thunderstorms could offer heavy rain, lightning, and hail as the main threats throughout your Sunday and Sunday evening. Warmer air will remain in place for Monday offering afternoon highs around 72 degrees with winds still southerly at 5-10 mph. Rain and storm chances diminish through the Monday morning commute, but scattered rain showers should not be ruled out for Monday. Then, drier conditions will prevail Monday night through Tuesday. The next system arrives Wednesday with chances of showers through the end of the week.
