Salvation Army kicks off 10th annual LemonAiD drive July 1

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – For the tenth year, LemonAiD volunteers will be helping people in the Bluegrass cool off while aiding homeless children and their parents.

The LemonAiD drive will kick off Friday at Walmart and Kroger stores, and at the Fayette Mall at 10:00 a.m. and run until 7:00 p.m.  Along with that, there will be a LemonAiD drive happening at Whitaker Bank Ballpark starting at 4:30 p.m.

During the drive, cans of lemonade will be given to individuals who make a donation.

Parents can obtain LemonAiD registration materials at existing LemonAiD stands or online at www.lemonaiddays.org, at Whitaker Banks in Lexington and Georgetown, and at The Salvation Army, 736 W. Main Street, Lexington, KY and 100 Washington Square, Georgetown, KY.

Individuals may also create a virtual LemonAiD stand, allowing family and friends who want to support a child’s lemonade stand but live out of town to make a donation. Persons wanting to specify a donation to help homeless children may also contribute online at www.lemonaiddays.org.

Last year over 500 young people registered to have a lemonade stand and raised over $50,000.00 for homeless children.
