Man, woman and teen scuffle with deputies during drug bust

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a man, woman and teenaged girl scuffled with deputies during a drug bust Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say when they were at Corbin Manor Apartments off of American Greeting Card Road, south of London, they heard what sounded like a domestic violence situation inside one of the apartment’s.

Deputies say they tried to get in, but couldn’t, so someone with the apartment complex let them inside.

They say they found a man and woman creating a disturbance. Following a brief struggle with the investigating detectives, the two were taken into custody, according to deputies.

Investigators say they also found a 16-year old girl in the apartment who had drug paraphernalia. The teen also created a disturbance and tried to assault one of the deputies, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and say they found a large quantity of meth, Suboxone strips, Xanax bars, digital scales, plastic baggies, drug paraphernalia and money.

Deputies say 34-year old Jamie Rummel, of London, and 31-year old Steve Hebel, of Lily, were jailed on numerous charges. They were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The 16-year old girl, whose name wasn’t released because of her age, was lodged in the Breathitt County juvenile detention facility.
