Improvements planned at 4 western Ky. state park resorts

CADIZ, Ky. (AP) – State parks officials say four western Kentucky state park resorts will receive an estimated $3.7 million in improvements during the next two years.

The funding is part of $18 million approved this year by state lawmakers and Gov. Matt Bevin. Improvements include structural repairs, painting and upgrades.

The announcement about improvements at the four western Kentucky park resorts was made Wednesday by state Tourism, Arts and Heritage Secretary Don Parkinson and state parks Commissioner Donnie Holland.

They said upgrades are planned at Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, Kenlake State Resort Park and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park.

Work will include painting and repairing the exterior of the lodge and convention center at Lake Barkley park, and lodge repairs and painting at Kentucky Dam Village.
