Hot and humid holiday week

The heat and humidity continues. It’s been a great day to head to the pool with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s and feels like temperatures between 95 to 100 degrees. We’ll stay dry through the rest of the evening and overnight with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures will warm back into the low to mid 90s Sunday with a heat index around 100 degrees. Through the afternoon we will also see a chance for isolated showers and storms. Severe weather is not expected; most activity will be triggered by the continued heat and humidity. High pressure will slowly be moving east which will allow a southerly wind to pull more moisture into the area. This will increase rain and storm chances Monday. The high pressure will retrograde, move backward, or move back west and keep rain chances down Tuesday through the end of the week. Highs Monday will stay slightly cooler with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and a heat index in the mid 90s. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 4th, will see highs in the low to mid 90s with a heat index from 95 to 100 degrees. Isolated showers and storms are possible Tuesday and Wednesday because of the heat and humidity. Rain and storm chances pick up slightly Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s and a heat index in the mid 90s.

You’re 4th of July will be hot and humid with a chance for isolated showers and storms. If you have plans to be outdoors for the holiday, make sure you stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade, and limit strenuous activity in the sun from late morning to early evening.
